Cayuse Vineyards
Washington
Founded 1997
Founded by French born vigneron Christophe Baron in 1997, Cayuse Vineyards is one of Washington State’s most influential wineries and a leading producer in the Rocks District of Milton Freewater. The estate is known for Rhône varieties, particularly Syrah, grown in vineyards covered with large basalt cobblestones that contribute to the wines’ distinctive savoury, smoky, and mineral character. Farming is biodynamic, yields are kept low, and winemaking emphasises native fermentations and minimal intervention.
