History
The Colombini family have been connected with Siena's nobility since the middle ages. After transitioning from the wool business into banking, the family acquired part of the Poggio alle Mure castle in 1352, marking their arrival in Montalcino.

Fattoria dei Barbi have one of the largest collections of old wines, with bottles dating back to 1870.
