Auxey Duresses AOC includes nine Premier Cru climats, spread across the slopes that extend westward from Meursault into a narrower, cooler valley. These sites produce both red and white wines, though Pinot Noir dominates, offering a more structured and earthy style compared to neighbouring Volnay and Monthelie. Among the most respected Premier Crus are Les Duresses, Climat du Val, and Les Bréterins, which yield wines with bright acidity, red fruit tension, and the ability to evolve gracefully with age.
