Lirano is a small and relatively obscure MGA that straddles the boundary between the communes of Serralunga d’Alba and Castiglione Falletto. With compact clay-limestone soils and moderately sloped, well-exposed terrain, Lirano produces structured wines with firm tannins, dark fruit, and mineral tension. Though not often bottled on its own, the site contributes depth and backbone to blends, offering a classic expression of the strength and longevity associated with this central part of the Barolo zone.
