Pugnane is a small MGA that spans the communes of Castiglione Falletto and Monforte d’Alba, situated on gently sloping terrain with a mix of marl and clay-limestone soils. The site benefits from favourable exposures, producing wines that are structured yet elegant, with red and dark fruit, floral aromatics, and firm but refined tannins. Though not among the most famous crus, Pugnane offers a balanced expression of Barolo that combines the finesse of Castiglione with the depth of Monforte.
