Recioto di Soave is a sweet, passito style wine produced in the Soave 'Classico' area of Soave DOC. It must possess a minimum of 70 grams of residual sugar. The best take on a dark orange colour and exude fragrant notes of wild flowers and exotic fruit. Despite this, acidity remains high and the wines are decidedly fresh. Recioto di Soave is a small production category wine with only around 120,000 bottles being made per year, compared with around 42 million bottles for the dry Soave and Soave *Classico* wines. The permitted grapes are the same as the dry version of the wine - Garganega with small amounts of Trebbiano di Soave. Standout examples include Rocca Sveva's 'Mida' and Cantina Franchetto's 'Santin Duico'.
